The Movement Enrichment Program is an in-school program which confronts the disparities in the educational system. We work with elementary, middle, and high school students to improve their academic performance, while guiding students towards positive post-secondary pursuits. What sets “The Movement” apart from the majority of other educational initiatives is what we call "comprehensive intervention," which includes, most notably, onsite and holistic school visits. We provide intervention, mentoring, social emotional support, tutoring, college and career planning and student athlete support. Our program fosters a stronger connection to the school and community, while providing guidance and support to access post-secondary opportunities, including college, vocational and career pathways. Our Peer Advisors work one-on-one with students and small groups to maximize the potential of each student. Our dynamic Movement team is trained to tutor and give tutoring tips and strategies, trained and skilled in restorative practices positive, Behavioral Intervention & Support (PBIS), Multi- Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), Trauma Training, and other areas. Over 75% of our students increase their grades by at least one letter grade, 99% (ninety-nine percent) of our students enroll in college, a certification program, or military, and 95% (ninety-five percent) of our scholarship winners finish college.
Students Think STEAM was created to increase interest and diversity and provide a fun, interactive way for students to learn, grow and get excited about STEAM fields. Our curriculum incorporates the fundamentals and application of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Agriculture, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Math. A state-of-the-art classroom on wheels is powered by the “STEAM Mobile,” a vintage airstream trailer, equipped with a stimulator, including a 3D printer and Mac computers with interactive activities and engaging instructors. The “STEAM TEAM” instructors are college graduates with engineering, math, science, and creative arts degrees. The STEAM Mobile travels to schools, festivals, and community events, teaching hands-on STEAM curricula to K-12 students.
Our Students Think STEAM program empowers students to be critical thinkers, with innovative mindsets and the ability to problem-solve. Our mission is to close the workforce gap in STEAM and help build America’s diverse workforce and entrepreneurs. Our STEAM program helps students:
· Think outside the box
· Feel safe to express innovative and creative ideas
· Feel comfortable doing hands-on learning
· Take ownership over their learning
· Work collaboratively with others
· Understand the ways that science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math work together
· Become increasingly curious about the world around them and feel empowered to change it for the better.
