Who we are and what we do

ABOUT LCE - SOBRE LCE

The Latino Community Engagement (LCE) program was created to address the disparities prevalent within Latino communities concerning education, professional growth, personal development, financial stability, health, and more. We approach these areas by fostering meaningful and impactful relationships between the community and both local and federal organizations. This effort aims to establish valuable resources, opportunities, and enduring partnerships that work to foster effective communication within and for Latino communities.

‍El programa Latino Community Engagement (LCE) fue creado para ayudar a resolver las disparidades que existen en las comunidades latinas en áreas como la educación, el crecimiento profesional, el desarrollo personal, estabilidad financiera, la salud, y más. Trabajamos en estas áreas fomentando relaciones significativas e impactantes entre la comunidad y con organizaciones locales y federales. Este esfuerzo tiene como objetivo establecer recursos valiosos, oportunidades y asociaciones duraderas para que contribuyan a una comunicación efectiva dentro y para las comunidades latinas.

MISSION STATEMENT - DECLARACIÓN DE OBJETIVOS

The Latino Community Engagement program’s mission is to empower and enrich the Latino community by fostering meaningful engagement, promoting cultural pride, and creating opportunities for educational, occupational, and personal growth and advancement in students, their families, and their communities. Through our unwavering commitment to inclusivity and collaboration, we aim to bridge the gap between diverse backgrounds, build stronger connections, and celebrate the rich heritage of the Latino community. With a focus on building strong partnerships and fostering leadership, we seek to amplify the voices of the Latino community, ensuring their representation in decision-making processes and building a more equitable society.

‍La misión del programa Latino Community Engagement es empoderar y enriquecer la comunidad latina creando conexiones significativas, promoviendo el orgullo cultural y creando oportunidades para el crecimiento educativo, ocupacional y personal de los estudiantes, sus familias y sus comunidades. A través de nuestro compromiso a la inclusión y la colaboración, buscamos cerrar la brecha entre los orígenes diversos de los latinos, establecer conexiones más fuertes y celebrar la rica herencia de nuestras comunidades. Nos enfocamos en crear alianzas fuertes y fomentar el liderazgo para dar más poder a la comunidad latina, asegurando que estén representados en las decisiones importantes y trabajando para lograr una sociedad más justa.

OUR THREE AREAS OF FOCUS - NUESTRAS TRES ÁREAS DE ENFOQUE

Tier 1: Latino College Expo/Latino College Expo

‍Our commitment includes working with established partners and our NCRF team to ensure the Latino College Expo continues to best serve the Latino community and all who attend with an array of resources and access to education, financial literacy, health, language access and more.

‍Nuestro compromiso incluye colaborar con organizaciones establecidas y nuestro equipo de NCRF para garantizar que el Latino College Expo siga sirviendo de la mejor manera posible a la comunidad latina y a todos los que atienden, proporcionando una variedad de recursos y acceso a educación, educación financiera, salud, acceso a recursos en su idioma, y más.

‍Tier 2: Community Outreach/Alcance Comunitario

‍We are dedicated to maintaining strong connections with the communities we serve, all the while foraging and upholding vital partnerships that allow us to provide essential resources to students, parents, and the community.

‍Nos dedicamos a mantener conexiones fuertes con las comunidades que servimos, al mismo tiempo que establecemos y mantenemos alianzas fundamentales que nos permiten ofrecer recursos esenciales a estudiantes, padres, y la comunidad.

‍Tier 3: School-based Initiatives/Iniciativas Escolares

‍We are establishing school-based initiatives that align with the entirety of our mission. These initiatives encompass organizing workshops and talks that delve into subjects like FAFSA, DACA/Dream Act, financial literacy, cultural education, and fostering parental engagement, with a distinct emphasis on providing assistance to English Language Development (ELD) students.

‍Estamos creando iniciativas en las escuelas que se alinean con nuestra misión. Estas iniciativas incluyen la organización de talleres y discursos que abordan temas como FAFSA, DACA/El Acto de Sueńos de Estudiantes, educación financiera, educación cultural igual que establecer la participación de los padres, con un enfoque especial en brindar ayuda a los estudiantes de desarrollo del idioma inglés (ELD, por sus siglas en inglés.)
